MiNarc had always credited herself with being more perspicacious than anyone else, so I guess that is why she was so blatant.
The excuse seemed sophistic when they were gone for hours, and ViKtim imagined they were having a rendezvous. I suppose MiNarc underestimated ViKtim's astuteness and cheated right under her nose without worry.
ViKtim could tell The Hairdresser was phony and shady, and wanted to keep her at arm’s length. That was fine with MiNarc, who I suspect, encouraged that rift. MiNarc knew The Hairdresser was using her for clout and sexual experimentation. She could tell the other professional was a “triangle” (person who uses others, and climbs over others to meet their own ambitions). But MiNarc loved being showered with attention and compliments (even if insincere). Those two got closer and closer, while ViKtim was pushed bit by bit out of MiNarc’s most inner orbit.
