First of all, FUCK Microsoft! I tried to make a simple line graph showing this information and the web version doesn't support that... Then I asked a couple of AI programs, tried Chart Studio, Plotly, Canva, Online Graph Maker, and others. I could find other people's graphs, but then you have to try to modify those for your project, which was impossible. I couldn't just find where to input raw data and convert it to the graph like you can on the regular Excel that you pay for. I hate everything, and everybody >:-{
Anyway, tickets are expensive. And sales day is stressful with all the signing in, getting kicked out, glitches, queues, and racing to purchase things already in your cart. The process is fucked. I wanted to pick my seats, obviously. Something with a good view and convenient access for a price point I am comfortable with. That's not a thing. When I took any time at all to try to look where the seat was, it would be taken before I could pull the trigger. Even after I picked seats, they'd be stolen from my basket. It was all stress and frustration. I finally signed in, got in and just picked the very first low-high priced actual seats. I had to race to purchase whatever they were and couldn't catch my breathe or take the time to see the details until the purchase was finalized. After all was said and done I was a bit regretful. I had paid more than I wanted for 'meh' seats that I wouldn't have selected given the chance to actually, you know, look.
I ended up paying $256 for a pair of tickets in

The arrogant Redditors said they didn't deal with all that mess and beat the system by getting tickets to the show same day, sometimes an hour before the start. I thought that was bullshit, but decided to keep an eye on tickets to see if it was true. Would there even be any tickets left day of? And would the prices be better for people trying to unload them or worse because of high demand?
Disclaimer: I'm not sure it would be the same for every artist, venue, day of the week, variable you can think of. This is just a guideline.
Here is a graph of my results for this particular show:
How Concert Ticket Prices Change through the Day
Ruoff [Deer Creek] Saturday, 7/11/2025 (2nd show) Dave Matthews Band Concert in Noblesville, IN
(Doors 6:30-7-ish bc of rain | show starts 7:30pm | Dave at 8:30pm)
As you can see tickets were available on the day of (at least 51 pairs with 46 pairs of them available after 6 PM) so that was good news to me. And it looks like some did go toward the $100 mark minutes before Dave was to take the stage. So the Redditors are definitely exaggerating about their $30 tickets *eye roll*
7 AM and five min prior to Dave taking the stage was same average ticket price so I'd suggest securing them early rather than being stressed and gambling.
The most expensive time during the last day was 7:23 PM. About a half hour after doors opened and an hour before Dave was to come out.
The last ticket before the site stopped loading the show was at 8:33 PM, 3 min after Dave was supposed to take the stage. And it was $182.50 slightly lower than the last day average ticket price of $197/pair.
Here's the data with the average price per pair of tickets bolded and a general trend line:
